YOGA

Yoga focuses on uniting the mind, body and spirit through breath work, flow of movement, and poses that stretch and strengthen. Though there are many forms of Yoga, each with different techniques and goals, common benefits include increased flexibility; strength and vitality; improved immune and circulatory systems; the stretching and toning of muscles; weight loss; improved balance and posture, and the reduction of stress and anxiety.

PILATES

A safe and holistic form of exercise that maintains mind-body balance and promotes both physical and mental well being. A certified instructor will create a custom program based on your body type, which will improve flexibility, balance, coordination, posture and core strength. By improving your range of motion, you reduce the risk of muscle, joint and skeletal injury. Pilates is great for all levels and all types of people.

MASSAGE THERAPY

The benefits of regular massage appointments include stable sleep patterns, improved concentration, increased energy levels, and greater flexibility. Fitness Bound offers two types of massage:

Energy Replenishing:  Shiatsu – or “finger pressure” – is a Japanese form of massage therapy similar to acupressure, and is applied to promote health and facilitate healing by correcting energy imbalances in the body. The goal is twofold: to release energy in areas where it may be blocked, and to bring energy back to areas that are depleted. This relaxing treatment initiates the release of endorphins (natural pain-killers) and lowers the levels of adrenaline and other stress hormones in the body.

Deep-Tissue Massage: Deep-tissue massage emphasizes slow strokes, direct pressure applied across the grain of the muscles with the fingers, thumbs or elbows. Deep-tissue massage targets tense muscles and connective tissue to release chronic aches and pains.

FASCIAL STReTCH THERAPY

Do you have constant aches and pain? Are you frustrated that stretching is too painful and does not help? FST is a form of assisted stretching that targets not only the muscles, but the fascia: the connective tissue that envelopes all muscles, bones, and joints. FST also targets the entire joint and joint capsule, using traction to remove restrictions from movement and to stimulate lubrication. There is no pain or discomfort in an FST session, rather, the gentle movement is quite relaxing. It helps to reduce pain, improves posture & mobility, and decreases compression & impingement in joints.
